I am open to abstract designs, but ideally, the cover would suit the title of the book itself.
The title indicates that there is a secret to be discovered, and “Secret” is the word the cover would ideally convey. How would you convey the idea of a valuable (and glorious) hidden secret? A heavenly door cracked open (or suddenly flung open)? An ancient seal? A buried treasure? A treasure map? A ray of light breaking through a dark sky? A key and a keyhole?
I know this is somewhat abstact, but I've included a few book cover images that I think do a good job of conveying the idea of a glorious hidden secret. You'll notice that almost all of them have in common the idea of a hidden light, which is an idea I'm hoping you'll explore. A subtle suggestion of Christian sacrifice would be a bonus (a cross or a drop of blood, etc.)
I'm leaning slightly toward a cursive font, but am open to suggestions. The main thing is that the font styles, colors, and image(s) go well with the theme of a religious secret.
Assume a 200-250 page non-fiction size paperback.
I’m open to ideas; I really am. I'm just brainstorming. I hope that someone will surprise me. What do you think is the most interesting aspect of my title? What sort of cover would make you curious about what secrets it might contain?
