Descripción del libro
Science fiction has largely ignored the most dangerous strategy a hostile alien race might use to control or destroy us: To control a people, convince them you are their creator, make them believe you are god. The most dangerous encounter mankind can have in space, is with a story. In the year 2075, following the invention of artificial intelligence and the peaceful unification of the human race, a ship arrives from earth to investigate a strange planet hidden by a black hole – a soldier and a scientist the ship’s only human crew. They soon discover that the planet is an alien tomb, a planet of memories left by our ancestors. In return for the knowledge of 1,000 species, humanity is asked to erase all evidence that intelligent life ever existed in the universe 10,000 years from the day we set foot on the planet. Ripples is a philosophical puzzle, and an exploration of what it means to be human, what we might become, and how we might end. Ripples imagines how the stones of tech trends today might ripple across the 21st Century. It is an examination of the most current philosophical, social, and the most immediate challenges mankind faces: transhumanism, social engineering, and the dangers and opportunities of AI. The author weaves together lessons drawn from his time as a Silicon Valley software engineer, CTO, and technology investment banker into a realistic sci-fi epic: The story of humanity in the 21st century. Ripples imagines our history as told through the eyes of AI pioneer Margot Ross remembering the death of her husband and how she invented true AI with a coding savant as she explores a distant planet hidden by a black hole in the year 2075 that asks humanity to follow a great tradition of surrendering the universe in 10,000 years.

Necesidades de diseño
A book cover to define a genre: Philosophical Silicon Valley Sci-Fi. I imagine a fingerprint as computer code on a black background [like the cover of Yuval Noah Harari’s book Homo Deus] with the fingerprint as a water droplet poised above a stylized pool of water with ripples spreading in all directions [like the cover of the book Life of Algorithms]. Like the book cover for The Matrix if it was kind of realistic and philosophical and set in Silicon Valley. Other Ideas: The Golden Gate Bridge as code. I also like two book covers of the book Life 3.0 by Max Tegmark: A futuristic human leaps from the water The San Francisco Bay and the San Francisco skyline at night. I can also imagine a combination of these two images with a female figure in a similar style bursting from the San Francisco Bay in front of the Golden Gate Bridge and a futuristic city, indicative that this is a story about technology and our real past and our near future like Ridley Scott’s film Blade Runner. I include several dozen covers I like in the attached file.
Lo que debe evitarse
We want a hip modern design with a 'circle of life' and 'tech rippling into the future' vibe, like something the author Yuval Noah Harari would use that captures a tech futurist audience: Avoid stuff that isn't that.
