Knowledge Elements (KE) provides software, technical and human resource support to colleges and universities that offer online or distant learning programs. We are both technological leaders and leaders in experience with over 15 years of working in this arena. Many of the academic institutions that we work with have been around for 100 years or more, and so these institutions are very traditional in their look and demeanor. The current logo (provided) for knowledge elements worked well to define us as the technological leader in our field, but we have found that most institutions want KE to look a little more like them. They want to see KE as peers, not as a hip technology company. So the look needs to reflect more of an academic feel, while still having a slight technological edge.
Our target marketing Academic Institutions that have been around for centuries. Educators, Faculty, Administrative staff of well established colleges and universities. Think Harvard business School as the client. We have to maintain that kind of presence. Anything that looks desktop published, or uses funky fonts will not work on this project.
There are three directions to move in on this project:
1. Puzzle Piece design: Because of the word “elements” we really like the puzzle piece idea and would love to see it incorporated into the design. You can attempt to do something creative with puzzle pieces, or make the KE out of puzzle pieces, or have the KE somehow incorporated into the puzzle pieces.’
2. KE as the logo. You can also try to do something creative just with the letters KE and then the words “Knowledge Elements” underneath it.
3. Simple Logo Mark like the BIOLA attachment: We also really like the simplicity of the Biola logo, so if you can come up with something simple but unique as a logo mark that would be phenomenal. You can incorporate the KE or just put knowledge elements below it. A common image in colleges and universities is the shield, so if you can come up with a really clever shield design that would work as well.
COLORS: The colors of choice are blue and green, but try and use some creative hues (not just reflex blue and stark green).
FONTS: Most institutions use Serif fonts, but if it works better use san serif. Looking for really clean and dynamic.
ALSO, we promise that EVERY DESIGN WILL GET A STAR RATING and/or FEEDBACK! And it will happen quickly, so you're not left in the dark!
Thanks and good luck!
