Culturally Intelligent Leadership
This logo is for a book website that specifically promotes a line of book products and information on Culturally Intelligent Leadership to an international audience.
I would like this logo to reflect similar qualities as my main business website: http://www.leadershipparadigms.com. Please visit this to get a feel for the content and what I do. Also, I have a temporary website about this book at: http://www.cileadership.com. Finally, this will be a product line of many books for the topic so each book I put out should have the same look and feel and intention as this logo. As an example, I will be putting out a book on Culturally Intelligent Teams, Raising Culturally Intelligent Children, Facilitation and Training Exercises for Developing Cultural Intelligence, Coaching for Cultural Intelligence, etc.
Audience
Direct audience are business leaders, executives, managers and those who work in cross cultural teams and global organizations. But, this logo should have a mass appeal speaking to people about the importance of culture and understanding cultural intelligence in our personal and professional lives. I speak about this topic to a variety of people in different sectors: health, education, social service, government, nonprofit, private sector, advocacy organizations, law, volunteers, etc. People who have or will be using this book vary: high school students, graduate students, business students, teams/group work, executives, social workers, and more. The important piece about my audience to understand is that they need to understand how to better work across cultures and to understand their own cultural upbringing.
Abstract about book product:
Organizations in the 21st century are in need of culturally intelligent managers and leaders. The pressure to build authentic global networks and to cultivate an appreciation and respect for cultural differences and similarities has driven cultural intelligence to the forefront of diversity and inclusion work.
Cultural intelligence is vital to working inter- and intra-culturally in today’s global economy. It is the unique ability to identify, recognize, and acknowledge the differences and similarities that exist between and among cultural groups and systems. When applied, cultural intelligence can bridge the gap in cultural misunderstanding by creating awareness, knowledge, and patience of cultural norms and behaviors.
As an organizational leader, learning to effectively lead and communicate cross culturally demands awareness, knowledge, and skill, as well as persistence, practice, and restraint of judgment. Culturally intelligent leaders understand that just because they acquired or developed the skills, awareness, and knowledge for one cultural situation does not mean that those behaviors and skills are applicable to another. Even if leaders are highly skilled, knowledgeable, or well trained, they can still make cultural mistakes.
