This logo is for a general information site about insurance concepts. The site will contain a large number of terms and definitions specific to the U.S. insurance environment - some might be orientated to specific States, but most are general. Many terms would be universal and not specific to any one country.
The logo should have a bright shiny, "new" look with reflective surfaces. The website domain name should be part of the logo design and maybe upper case, all lower case or a combination. The "pedia" of the domain name refers to the fact this website will be mostly educative - listing content that the average person could read and understand. To see a sister website of ours that will be similar, go to http://www.techopedia.com.
The attached drawing is a very rough idea of what is wanted. The drawing/logo represents "hands" or "helping hands" - the idea being the website is helping those learn about insurance. The logo would most likely have to be stylized or almost an abstract drawing of hands. However, do NOT make the hands like the United Way logo (http://www.glennarbouracademy.com/w…-Logo1.jpg) or similar.
Keep in mind that he logo must be recognizable at smaller viewports like iPhones - so it there will be limited space for much details. The logo should be able to degrade in size nicely as it is displayed from desktop to tablet to smartphone.
This site uses the same Bootstrap-based design and layout. Note the shape and size of the logos from these sites - the same template will be used on the new Corrosionpedia.com website, so the proportions, rough size etc. should be similar.
The attached color palette will give you a good idea of approximately what colors will be used. You are not restricted to these colors but these are will be used throughout the website.
The graphic designer whose logo we pick will be asked to come up with a two related icons or images that can be used on the website as additional design work..The name
