juice photography
This is a side-business for me at the moment, but I'm building it, looking to make it full-time at some stage.
"juice" comes from my nickname - everyone calls me that, including clients, so it seems to work.
I am relaxed and easy-going to work with – I try to make things relaxed/fun, while remaining professional and efficient. (I am a journalist at the moment as a main job, so I'm pretty good at putting people at ease.)
I'm still looking for a tagline for the business – "Making images you love" is about as far as I've got, but it might be a bit weak/soft, so I'm ignoring it :-)
People/businesses who need photos taken. I'll shoot pretty much anything. I shoot for football clubs, book designers, banks, government departments - anyone who wants me to work for them.
I am after a simple but memorable logo - a clean, distinctive look. Creative, funky, urban.
'juice' is a fairly wide-open branding setup, with some obvious directions to go. I like those directions, but I am not wedded to them. One of the reasons for putting this up here is to get a variety of takes on it.
I'm a fan of green/white for the image, but by no means wedded to it. It would also have to work with a translucent colour (including white) to be used as a (partially transparent) watermark for images. The watermark also needs to be usable both light and dark, which is dependant on the image it's being used on.
I'm also open to a design that is two parts – a stylised-type logo that works with an image logo, but with each able to be used by themselves.
The logo will be used on my website and blog, both for headers and watermarks. A large part of the usage will be as a watermark, which again relates to the 'splittable' aspect of the logo mentioned above. (ie using the text in one part of the image, and the image as a watermark in a nearby corner. (Or similar.) So it's important that there's nothing to fancy or fine about it.
I own juicephoto.com.au and juicephotography.com.au. I like the shorter version more, for obvious reasons, but I'm not hung up on it.
I'm also looking to use it on business cards, so if you've got ideas there, that'd be great.
Must be available as Illustrator/vector files, as I'm going to be scaling them a fair bit, converting to PNG, using for cards etc.
