The logo must be simple in design, however unique in structure. The goal of a strong and unique logo is for the club to have a visual representation that is easy to place on shirts, hats, and other printed material. All of the great clubs have a strong and unique logo. The most obvious and famous example is Augusta National's, however ther are plenty of other examples of great logos: Oakmont, Cypress Point, National Golf Links, Merion, etc. It is our belief that the a great logo should be able to stand on its own with out without a text description of the Club's name.
The club's famous "old logo" was changed as a group of members that decided it was too intricate to be placed properly on hats, shirts, and other items. Our committee is ok with change, however the logo that they chose 4 years ago is very generic and doesn't represent the club well. We are looking to have an "updated logo" that incorporates some of the elements of the "old logo" along with a new version of the cross golf sticks that is not "free clip art".
The older original logo has a couple of elements we would like to preserve.
1. The squirel.
2. Cross Golf Sticks
3. Drawn in an old style fashion.
The idea is to make a very iconic cool logo with the above 3 requirements, that is simple in design and form, but a powerful and unique design.
