SIM is a faith-based org working to establish, strengthen & partner with churches around the world to develop their communities & mentor their members. Practically, some of our work is in aid and development. We are always in locations for the long haul & we share Christ everywhere we go.
Thrive will be an internal office in SIM that will assist in developing our team through personal growth, mentoring & professional development. It will involve a variety of delivery methods including orientation, retreats, study programs, mentoring, & life development plans. It has a life-long and holistic focus including emotional & spiritual concerns as well as professional development.
Since we come from many backgrounds, we have a growing need for unity around our ethos & operating principles. We believe that development is a lifelong process of increasing the effective use of our gifts & talents in all areas of life.
The logo should communicate some of these traits:

The market is us. We are missionaries, made up of followers of Christ from 30 countries and even more cultures from every continent. Young and old (18-78 years old), short-term and long term (serving 2 months up to a life time of service), single and married and divorced, with and without children. The large majority of us are well educated. We all speak English, but also represent a myriad of other languages from our mother country as well as the languages we learn on the field (often fluently). We are a pretty hardy bunch. Many of us live and work in places, with our families, most people wouldn’t even visit.
We need a logo for Thrive!
Ideally, the logo is an icon.
The word 'Thrive' should be well designed beside the icon.
It will be translated into multiple languages (by us at a later date).
Font used for Thrive should be easily purchased by us.
It should not exceed 3 colors. Spot color is preferred. (we will consider CMYK)
If you use red, please use PANTONE®186
It should be bold in design (for small and large applications)
Work well in all mediums (online, t-shirt, paper, business card, TV, etc)
It should reproduce well in B&W (not gradient)
Sometimes our application is EXTREMELY old school (think African bush)
Do I even have to mention that it should not include clip art?
Please inform us if you use any stock material.
- Final artwork must be vector art, preferably an Illustrator file (CS3 or lower) still layered.
- Include a Black and white version (possibly requiring some redesign)
- Deliver as .is file and .eps (flattened)
- Spot color is preferred, but CMYK will be considered.
- Fonts should NOT be converted to outline.
FYI: Our final response might be delayed (shortly) while we receive feedback across many cultures to be sure the logo does not represent anything unintended.
