Gigsby.com is a new web application for the electronic dance music community to do networking and business. We are a looking for a logo design for Gigsby to place on the website and on all our marketing material.Our web application's name is Gigsby. (including the dot). The website's name is Gigsby.com. This web application brings electronic dance music artists, event promoters, and agents together to make more and better gigs happen. It gives users a social/professional networking environment to identify, find out about, meet and collaborate with other people in the industry. In addition, it provides agents, artists, and promoters with specialized tools to identify talent, market talent, book gigs, and gain access to 3rd party service providers for miscellaneous needs. The web site content includes text, photographs, news feeds, audio/video content, interactive communication and collaboration tools and ads.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
The professional community of Electronic Dance music industry.
Artists: We are targeting live performing artists (DJs) who may or may not be producers (song writers). 18-40, party monster
Talent Agents and Agencies: Agents sign artists and work with promoters to book gigs for them. Agencies have multiple agents and artists. Age: 18-50. Business-like.
Promoters: Promoters book gigs. They hire artists through agencies. They are responsible for all logistics, organization, etc. Age: 18-40, party monster
Though it varies, this is typically a 20-40 of age, urban, party-loving community of professionals that make a living off electronic dance music.
ps: note that promoters use designers to design flyers and other promo material every single time they organize a gig. A great logo on Gigsby.com may generate additional business for the winner of this contest.
We are looking for a logo design with an icon for the Gigsby. brand. This design will be placed on our website as well as any promotional material and will define the key visual elements of our brand such as color palette, font, and overall look and feel.
It is critical that the design reflects
(1) the main purpose of Gigsby. :"a place for electronic dance music community to network and make gigs happen".
(2) reflects Gigsby's founding principles and personality (see below)
(3) Resonates with the target audience
(4) sets the stage for further brand development
What are the elements of Gigsby's personality:
Warm, artist and community friendly, fun-loving, partying, enjoying life... Yet it is a place where business gets done.
So it must strike the right balance between the social/professional network and a place where commercial contracts are signed. You can think of it as a big professional networking cocktail. You walk around, mingle with people, shake hands, close business, sip your drink, move on... It is fun and business-like at the same time.
