We are a small business based in Bristol, UK, and we develop applications and technologies for mobile phones. We are looking to launch a new mobile application to allow people to share location information with their friends and family - we need a distinctive logo for this.
Our target market is quite broad: 16-40 year olds, both male and female.
As a smart-phone application, the target audience is very aware of a level of design maintained by the best apps on the market, a level which we hope to reflect/maintain/surpass with our brand.
Our initial ideas for the ZincLeaf logo are that we want something that fits with the lowercase, illustrated (not a photo) vibe of current, web 2.0 logos.
We would like the text to be something modern, sans-serif and fresh, and in lowercase. We also want ‘zinc’ in silver, ‘leaf’ in green. The rounded rhombus/leaf-like icon should replace the 'a', whilst fitting in with the overall text.
This leaf-like icon needs to double as the shorthand symbol for the application, so it is important that it fits with the brand name.
Please see the attached mock up for visual guidance. This is just a guide to how we see the logo beginning – we value your design creativity to reinvent and polish up our embryonic ideas.
So to be clear, the leaf icon needs the least work. Please use it as the vital centrepiece to the brand. The text type should seamlessly match the shape of the leaf icon.
Please present your design on a white background. A black or other coloured background is a bonus, but the white background is a must.
