Silva Plates is an eloquent restaurant that celebrates the exemplary treasures of Latin and Asian cuisine. Located in NYC’s Lower East Side, the very nexus of a cultural exchange, Silva Plates embodies the rustic ambiance of Latin America and the historic synergy and grandeur of the Far East. The sounds, the spectacle and the beautifully fragrant aromas all illustrate an authenticity that is complemented with gracious hospitality. Dedicated and inspired by the culinary expertise of grandma’s kitchen, the rich and robust Latin flavors fused with the appetizingly eclectic delicacies of the Orient guarantees to spoil any complex palate.
Silva Plates exquisite take on Latin cuisine is indicative of Maria Silva’s vision. Generations of recipes and tradition that was instilled in Maria as a young woman in her native Puerto Rico is well represented in each dish. The atmosphere, the décor and the sociable grace of service are highlighted by the classically refined presentations, enhancing a sense of nostalgia and making each taste a blissful event. The true savor of the Caribbean and South America that respectfully earned centuries of accolades is the foundation of the Silva Plates establishment.

The Lower East Side has a beautifully extensive history of determined immigrants striving for prosperity. But none is more storied than the Asian and Latino communities living and working side by side to sculpt out a prosperous future for their families. Combined, forging an indelible bond that ushered them through some of the most tumultuous eras in US history, ultimately creating a cultural and artistic renaissance throughout the area. A new community emerged blurring the lines of race, creed and color, with a focus in the commonalities in customs, such as home life, food and drink.
I think its best to maintain a very simple aesthetic, i imagine there being a mark ( or plate) in the middle of the words Silva and Plate. Using a chinese calligraphy might be a cool idea. I would reference http://www.taorestaurant.com/. That's the kind of look we are going for.
There must be a mark along with "Silva Plate" included.
Red/Gold or Red/Grey
The mark can be one graphic with Chinese letter inside the mark or the letters SP.
Sliva Plate should resemble the Tao logo i think but open to other ideas.
Please avoid Arial, Times New Roman, Helvetica, Garamond, etc.. (no standard fonts.)
