We're making it easier to solve the world's biggest scientific problems by providing a programming platform for designing new forms of life.
The name Tyger comes from a William Blake poem that alludes to the complexity, beauty, and fun of the world we live in. We're a platform that makes it easier for scientists and programmers to share their discoveries with each other, distribute big problems, and more.
We believe in open standards, sharing scientific discoveries with others, and are trying to pioneer a patent-free genetic future through an open platform.

The target audience is very small, very well educated and very web savvy. They include synthetic biologists, computer programmers, biotech engineers and entrepreneurs.
These are very curious, experimental academics and hackers. They tend to love the natural world and outdoors, but probably spend the vast majority of their time in front of a computer screen.
In terms of look & feel, we think we want something that blends the natural world (potentially tiger imagery) with computers, engineering, standardization, programming, industrial standards, etc. One example of this can be seen at http://www.igem.org, where they have blended a bacteria with a gear. But we don't like their logo at all.
We will be primarily a web-based business, so the logo needs to look great on a website and it should come with colors that are web-friendly. Plus, we'd also like clean design and would prefer a simple approach to one that tries to an overcomplicated blend.
