Clean Energy Finance Center
Local, state, and federal policymakers and advocates are in desperate need of guidance when it comes to which specific financing models they should be employing to finance large scale energy efficiency, renewable energy or carbon reduction initiatives. The Clean Energy Finance Center is focused on the local, state and national level efforts to mobilize the public and private sectors to direct capital towards financing our country’s transition to a clean energy economy. The Center serves as a convener of and an independent, trust-worthy, and fact-driven resource to policymakers, governments, regulators and the investor community.
The Center conducts research in clean energy finance, energy efficiency finance, environmental finance (http://www.environmental-finance.com/), and carbon finance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_finance). An example of the types of analyses that are undertaken by the Center are:
➢ Analysis of state revolving loan programs – efficacy and performance of different models from a financial and energy savings or clean energy generation perspective; detailed analysis of financial and legal structures; exploration of credit enhancement models
➢ Analysis of the most effective project finance models for clean renewable projects – studying use of loan guarantees, renewable energy credit revenue, leasing models, various tax credits/incentives
The research findings of the Center are disseminated to policymakers and market makers including advocates, local, state and regional governments, academics and private sector investors. The research by the Center is disseminated through online webinars, podcasts, conferences and other innovative information dissemination means.
The logo should attempt to depict:
• Objective, trustworthy, and independent research-based analyses
• Solutions oriented with a focus on finance
• Practical, relevant and timely solutions that address current opportunities (the “here and now”, not theoretical and in the future)
• National priority to achieve a clean energy economy through public and private sector investment
• Focus on both energy efficiency (consuming less energy) and clean energy (producing more energy from clean renewable resources)
• The logo needs to be in a format that is suitable for use on websites, reports, presentations, letterhead, business cards, webinars and other promotional materials.
