I have this crazy idea that we need to re-think the way we create, support, and sustain ventures. That means we re-considering what kinds of companies and organizations are needed today, in response to the massive changes we are seeing in our society as a result of the influence that technology and the internet are having on our culture. It means re-structuring how ventures, both for-profit and social in nature, are funded and managed. That means re-assessing what success looks like for new companies and organizations, and how we measure progress against our needs in society. And it means re-building the whole infrastructure of innovation... from how we teach it, promote it, cover it in the media, what skills we value, who gets to serve as gatekeepers, and more.
I am putting together a 'solutions book' that outlines what a new future would look like for ventures, innovation, and related issues. The 'solutions book' will be a series of essays and ideas from smart people, like you, that tackle different parts of this discussion and spark a new focus and conversation. The book, when complete, will be introduced and distributed as a part of the WeMedia conference (http://www.wemediamiami.org)).
Since 2004, We Media conferences have informed, inspired and ignited companies, organizations and individuals seeking to understand and profit from the “power of us.” We Media brings together leaders who share insights and experiences shaping the world of the connected society and its new marketplaces.
The target audience are the people at WeMedia -- and the people who will pay attention to what WeMedia is doing to change the way we think about ventures. They include: the innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders shaping an enlightened age of media, technology, business, communications and connections -- and particularly the people who are serious about re-thinking and re-considering how startups and innovation are pursued.

I need a mark that can be used online...think website header and blog post -- as well as offline... because the book will be available in hard copy (or at least PDF). It will be used in presentations, and down the line, possibly on a business card, sign, or similar. The starting point of the project is the 'solutions book' (a printed/made available online as PDF document), but the project will grow -- to include other deliverables, as well as other topics.
I want something creative and fun, that captures the idea of 'big thinking' and 'real solutions.' This is not an exercise in vanity. We want to change the world with this conversation - and the look/feel that helps to frame the presentation of the book/project will help to shape how seriously this effort is taken.
The working title of the project is 'WeThink' -- so you can use that to shape the concept/mark around. IF you have a better title (or want to try out some other versions -- like WeSolutions, or WeIdeas) feel free, but the main focus right now is WeThink.
The project is using words like: Re-Think, Re-Consider, Re-imagine, Re-envision, Re-organize, as well as organize, structure, communicate, adapt, shift, change.
The ideas will be big, exciting, bold, but also specific and actionable. We want a concept/logo that reflects huge potential and measurable results.
Simple, clean, smart.
