Australian independent filmmakers who are going online to promote and self distribute our film online. We have completed the film and we have just launched our website that has been built using a http://www.pagelines.com theme Station Pro.
We want to build a fan base we can communicate with and sell the DVD of the film directly online.
We are horror fans ourselves but lack the design skills to reach out and grab the attention of our audience.
This film targets a young audience 17 - 30 and also other indy filmmakers out there who will buy the film just to see how we did it on such a small budget.
From our test screenings the younger end of this demographic seem to get off on it the girls like the hot guy in it and the guys like the Maddy character is hot.
The crazy horror fans are blown away with the scary characters i the film. We have already had requests for models and figures of the characters.
We need a new main page interface design.
We want to impress and we want fans to subscribe to our list, follow us on Twitter and join our Facebook Fan page. That is the main purpose of the home page. Want the Title to standout.
Quite frankly I think it sucks as far as the way it looks from a design
perspective, I do like certain aspects of it such as the evil Twitter bird and the Facebook logo at the bottom and RSS icon. I am using an Aweber standard email form but I would like it to blend into the overall site better - I know you can customize these.
I do like the structure of the theme because I want to communicate with my audience over time, build up a community/fan base using the blog, email list and social networking which this theme is structured to do.
What I need is some help with the main page layout and background design. It is a bit flat at the moment, nothing jumps out. I want it to look like a movie site but not a complete Flash site.
My site is http://www.thegatesofhellmovie.com
These are sites I like the look, feel and quality of just not all in
http://www.purepwnage.com - although this is not horror I like the design without ads
I have heaps of photos from the film of characters and sets etc that I can supply.
