What we do: SustainProfits is a platform for sales on Amazon to create profits. The products sold there are about wellbeing, relaxation, taking time for ourselves.
The profits are used to support small organisations (small enterprises, NGOs, CBO’S (community-based organisations)) in developing countries. The aim is that they gain access to international markets with their products so that they can sustain themselves financially.
To start with, the platform will support the following organisations from Kenya:
- Hadithi Crafts Kenya (<https://www.hadithikenya.com/>) sale sisal baskets, beaded bracelets, Flag pennant banners, fabric safari animals from a local fabric
- EcoWorld Watamu (<https://web.facebook.com/EcoWorldWatamuKE/?_rdc=1&_rdr>, part of Watamu Marine Association), sale recycled marine plastic waste: bracelets from fishing nets, coasters, keyrings (products not displayed on page yet)
At a later stage, these organisations will be replaced (ideally because they can market themselves) and/or more groups will be added to the platform.

Target audience: Conscious, environmentally aware people that are willing to support good initiatives. They are well educated, mid-class regarding income, critical about themselves and the world. As much as they want the good in the world they rarely support charitable organisations. They buy from SustainProfits because they like the products and feel good about supporting a business that creates work in the developing world. They feel this is a good way to enhance development.
