Home page: Headline, image below. Beneath that, two or three links to videos (layout similar to http://www.apple.com/home/).
Regular page (Benefits, Contact): One column with sidebar: Headline, paragraph text below. Then subheadings with more paragraph text and optinally images. A sidebar with/without unordered lists.
Rich-content page (Features): Headline, 2-3 sentences beneath. Followed by a number of "sections" corresponding to each feature (www.xoomtracking.com/features/ : Tracking, Dispatch, Mobile, Reports, Alerts, Maintenance, Airtime plans). Currently, there is a single div used for the slides of all the features/sections. In the new design, I want each feature in its own div... Similar to http://www.tvlcorp.com/works.html and http://www.247grad.de/services/ Each section will contain a headline, paragraph text, and default image/screenshot. The user can click the left- or right-side of the image to display the next/previous slide. Some sections may have a button that opens a new window to play a video.
Updated: I've uploaded a black&white concept of our new logo (it's not done yet, but at least it's something to use/work with). Concerning colours, we have no set palette. The web sites we linked to give an idea of what we would like, but feel free to go out on a limb. Surprise us with something dynamic, striking, bold, interesting.
Our audience/customers are medium-size companies based in Canada and the United States. Native-english speaking. They are busy. Content needs to jump out at them. Navigation needs to be easy and obvious (but not boring or unoriginal).
95% of the text for the new site will be taken from our current http://www.xoomtracking.com web site. You may wish to use that text in design comps.
