Doodlehat.com is a one-product, e-commerce website. We sell “Doodle Hats,” which are standard baseball caps with a unique twist. The front crown portion of the hat is composed of a dry-erase fabric, allowing consumers to “doodle” or draw on their hats using a dry-erase marker. Consumers can then erase the writing with their hand or dry cloth. Doodle Hats are great for kids (for drawing pictures or objects), sports fans (for cheering on your favorite team or athlete), special occasions (for birthday or retirement parties), or anyone who just wants to make a statement with their hat. We also provide a free dry-erase marker with each hat.
Currently, our “Doodle Hats” are offered in four colors – blue, pink, red, and black, and two sizes – small (child) and medium (adult).
We are looking for a HOME PAGE and a TEMPLATE PAGE (for all other pages) to sell our product. Here is an example of a site offering a similar product -- http://www.aquadoodle.com/.
If you decide to submit an entry, then please e-mail us at email@example.com, and we will send you several pictures of our product, as well as our company logo, which is sewn on our product. The official logo should be used on the website.
These links should be included somewhere on the HOME page:
Not included on the main links “menu,” but included on the HOME page separately:
Doodle Pic of the Week (where consumers can send in pictures of their own doodle hats!)
Without limiting the creativity and originality of the designers who choose to create an entry, we will share a few of our ideas on what to include on the website. However, please take all of our ideas as simply suggestions. None of these suggestions are required or mandatory in your design:
On the main page, we imagine a picture of three people wearing doodle hats (e.g., a 10-year old child, a 21-year old, and a 35 year old) each wearing a Doodle Hat (pink, red, blue). Each of the three people will have “doodles” on their hats. The doodles on the child’s hat would be simple drawings (possibly including a tic-tac-toe figure), the doodles on the 21-year old would be a more trendy design or a political statement, and the adult’s doodle hat would say “Go Tigers!” (or something to that effect, like they were cheering on a sport’s team). This would provide an immediate showcase of the purpose of our hats, and the scope of our consumer audience.
The tone or theme of the site should focus around “doodling” or drawing with dry-erase markers. As such, the larger fonts should look like handwriting using markers, and using different colors. Also, the background of the website might include some form of doodling images.
