The Port of London
Our client the Port of London (http://www.pla.co.uk) would like to create a new website dedicated to Leisure users of the river. Currently Leisure users are being directed to http://www.pla.co.uk/display_dynami…recreation which is the Leisure section of the PLA’s corporate site.
The new site will be aimed at the general public rather than the professional mariner or commercial shipping.
The site need to look clean, fresh, happy and fun it should show in the River in a good light and say to the user the river is place to spend time relaxing and having fun.
Leisure users of the River Thames (UK), aimed at the general public and river users.
Logo – To stay the same shape as the one used on PLA.co.uk but you have freedom on the colour pallet used in the logo. It needs a fresh look more in tune with Leisure.
Colour pallet – Bright, happy and funky.
Screen size – To fit 1024px width
Elements that must be included:
* Search box – Google custom search
* Print page – icon
* Header images – The PLA would like to have some form of main image.
Home page – Widget based concept that we are using on http://www.pla.co.uk, however the visual design of the widgets needs to be different.
Widget for the home page:
* News (with RSS)
* Interactive map
* Vessel licensing
* Interactive Map
Not all of the above navigation needs to be in one place, any ideas as to splitting the navigation please welcome.
Interactive Google map that displays all the Leisure facilities along the river. This map will need to be promoted on the Home page and the main navigation.
