I chose a color scheme that is separate from TikTok, but similar enough to seem to be associated with it. I conveyed the idea of the company through the typography of the words. The word \"Things\" is slightly offset and overlapping, like the inside of a bag of things you might buy. The word \"Love\" is hot pink and bold, showing that the things in the store are trending, and that the company is confident in their brand's name.")

The yellow shows the sunlight hitting the Teton mountains/solar panels, tying in to the idea of solar power. The green calls back to \"green energy\". I modified the shape of the Tetons so that the darker side of the middle peak looks like a silhouette of the state of Idaho.")

The logo was created through multiple rounds of paper and digital sketches until the current one was produced. Multiple directions were approached, but experimentation not only gave the logo its unique texture, but it also brought the brand back to its ground roots. Using real potatoes and paint, I carved out the letters, stamped them on paper, and later touched up the logo in Photoshop.")

The product given was a collapsible cup, ideal for the outdoors and quick use. The three audiences defined were 1) kids ages 7-10 years old, 2) college aged students, and 3) seniors (65 years and up). Each audience was funneled down to be more specific.")

I wanted the quality of the packages to match the experience of eating candy from a different culture. While other countries have similarities between how they’re run, how people act and celebrate, and what they enjoy doing for fun, there are so many diverse concepts that can be applied to branding when appropriate. Including various elements of the rich cultural background in Japan helped me to understand that the roots of anything are oftentimes the most beautiful. Granted, there are brands that are beautiful just for the sake of being beautiful and colorful, and that can be among the best solutions for a design. In the case of the packages I designed, the directions were too rich to just settle with simplicity.")

I considered adding a figure, but I didn't want the design to feel too masculine or too feminine, or to appeal to one martial art more than another. The handwritten look of the UNDERDOG typeface shows some of the roughness and fight that an underdog would have, also shown in the roughness on the borders of the logo.")

I'm a designer with 3 years of experience with clients, including but not limited to: The City of Rexburg, Idahoan Foods, and Sandhill Media Group. With these various clients, I have designed campaigns utilizing branding and identity, motion design (After Effects), and 3D packaging design. Throughout such projects I've communicated with the client to stay on track an have pitched campaign presentations.
